Lewisville ISD Building Neighborhood Connections; District Seeking Participants for INSIDE Program
Lewisville ISD (LISD) is seeking participants to be part of the INSIDE leadership program for the 2014-2015 school year. INSIDE, which stands for “Interested Neighbors Staying Informed of District Efforts,” was launched five years ago. To date, about 200 citizens have spent a year going behind the scenes through this unique program to learn how the district operates. This year, citizens will be able to get to know the district’s leadership team – a great way to learn more about their expertise, roles and responsibilities.
Lewisville ISD Welcomes Educational Consultant Katie Greer; Parents Invited to Participate in District “Parent University” Learning Activity
Sept. 2, Lewisville ISD (LISD) will welcome famed educational consultant Katie Greer to lead a “Parent University” (Parent U) learning opportunity for all LISD parents. Parents are invited to attend the session with Greer, who will help them navigate today’s technology-driven society with their children. The event will be held at Lewisville High School’s Leo C. Stuver Auditorium (1098 W. Main St., Lewisville) at 7 p.m.
School Health Advisory Council for LISD
The Lewisville ISD is seeking individuals interested in serving on the District’s School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).

The LISD SHAC serves as an advisory council which provides recommendations, changes, and/or additions to the school’s health education curriculum and instruction for consideration by the LISD Board of Trustees. The council discusses issues and concerns that impact the entire district, not just individual campuses.

The council includes people who represent diverse views in the community about health programs and materials. Parents of students enrolled in the district must be a majority of the council. The council may include teachers, school administrators, students, health care professionals, members of the business community, law enforcement representatives, senior citizens, clergy, or other interested person. The council meets at least four times a year and meetings are held at 7pm.
